2017 Lenten and Easter Schedule

Holy Cross Church

Fridays During Lent 

Additional Mass at 5:15 p.m. Stations of the Cross: following the 5:15 p.m. Mass (English)
and at 7 p.m. (Spanish).

Ash Wednesday

Mass at 7:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m.

Prayer services at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. (Spanish).

Ashes will be distributed following the 7:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m. Masses and at the 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. prayer services.

Holy Thursday

Mass at 7 p.m. only (bilingual, in English and Spanish).

Good Friday

Stations of the Cross at 12 p.m.

Liturgy of the Word at 3 p.m. (English)

Outdoor Stations of the Cross at 4 p.m.

Liturgy of the Word at 5 p.m. (Spanish)

Holy Saturday

Morning Prayer with the friars at 9 a.m.

Easter Sunday

Sunrise Service at 6 a.m.

Mass at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. (Spanish), and 11:30 a.m.

Fridays During Lent

Stations of the Cross: 12 p.m. and following the 5:15 p.m. Mass.

Ash Wednesday

Masses at 6:45 a.m., 5:15 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Midday Devotions at 12 p.m.

Ashes will be distributed following the 6:45 a.m., 5:15 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Masses and during the Midday Devotions around 12 p.m. and at every half hour starting at 2 p.m. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will be suspended on this day.

Holy Thursday

Mass at 6:30 p.m. only. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will continue until 10 p.m.

Good Friday

Seven Last Words from 1 to 3 p.m. 

Liturgy of the Word at 3 p.m.

Holy Saturday

Easter Vigil at 5:30 p.m.

Reception at around 7:30 p.m. (following the Vigil Mass) in church hall.

Easter Watch resumes at 9 p.m. with return to the church. Easter Watch will go on throughout the night.

Liturgy of the Word from 1 to 3 a.m. in the church.

Procession at 5 a.m. from Saint John the Baptist to Holy Cross via 8th Avenue sidewalk for Sunrise Service (see above).

Easter Sunday

Mass at 10:30 a.m. only.
